Chess25 is a variant of the classic game of chess with a dynamic twist.

Every time you make a move, there is a 25% chance that you get a bonus move and move again. This rule applies to the new turn as well, meaning you (or your opponent!) might get to move many times in a row.

There are also a few other rules that are different from normal chess:

• There is no check, checkmate, or stalemate. To win the game, you must simply capture the opponent's king like any other piece! If a player has no legal moves (this is very, very rare), then the game ends in a draw. The game also ends in a draw whenever 50 moves occur without any pawns moving or pieces being captured.
• There is no en-passant.
• Castling works as normal, except that the check-based restrictions don't exist: the king and rook involved must have both not yet moved, and all the spaces in between them must be empty.
• A (virtual) coin flip is used to decide which player goes first.

About the daily game

Every day, you can play a daily game against the computer, and compare your results with other people. To make it possible to compare results, the specific sequence of turns (which player goes first and when the bonus moves happen) is decided randomly ahead of time and is the same for every player for that day, so don't spoil it!
